Outside school

The Arts Council England state that involvement with arts and culture is crucial to imagination, self-expression and creativity in young people. It also develops the skills that fuel the success of the UK’s creative industries, and that will result in the next generation of creative talent across the country.

By giving your child time for unstructured art, you are allowing them time to explore and develop their creativity. reativity is is the best way for your child to express themselves without judgment. Creativity fosters mental growth in children by providing opportunities to try out new ideas and new ways of thinking. Indeed Picasso put it best when he said "every child is an artist, the problem is staying an artist when you grow up."

Theatre groups

We currently run three theatre groups which perform musical theatre, acting, singing and dancing. All groups will perform at least one main show each year alongside other community performances including, March GER Christmas Cracker, St Georges Fayre and our own fundraising events.

The first session is always a free introductory session to provide your child with a chance to decide if they believe they will enjoy being a member. The Youth Theatre sessions run during school term time at March Town Hall as follows:

Connections Theatre Festival

The Connections Festival is a national competition involving 250 youth theatre groups. Groups perform 1 of 10 new plays. The play is performed in our own venue (March Town Hall) and a sister venue which, for ourselves, is either The Garage or Arts Playhouse in Norwich. These are in April each year. The group is for young people aged 14 - 19 and welcomes new members in May and June each year. If you are interested in any of our Youth Theatres please email Katherine.
