Building a creative future

We are committed to offering creative people the opportunity to find out more about jobs in the creative industries. We have offered apprenticeships since we began and a couple of our previous apprentices have gone onto achieve degrees in Event Management. We currently have four apprentices working for 20Twenty. We offer work experience placements for 1 or 2 weeks and activiley encourage young people to volunteer with our Youth Theatre and week long workshops. As members of a Cultural Education Partnership we work with lots of artists and arts organisations and may be able to link you up with someone who can tell you more about an area you are interested in working in. We currently have 2 creative industry programmes running: Young Promoters and Young Producers. To find out more contact Katherine.

Apprenticeships

We have had at least one apprentice since we were created in 2011 and to date have given 10 young people an apprenticeship opportunity. We currently employ 4 apprentices so will not be recruiting until September 2021. Previous apprentices have gone onto university to complete degrees in event Management. Ben completed his apprenticeship after which we were able to offer a full-time role for him. Jess recently completed her level 3 and continues to work with us as a sessional musician on our Get Creative and Rock Academy projects whilst also running her own Glee Club in association with 20Twenty Productions. Our current apprentices are studying business administration involving many on the job opportunities.

Work experience

20Twenty have been welcoming students from all of the Fenland secondary schools on work experience since conception. Many of these students also continued to volunteer with us. One student in particular went onto get a First in her degree in Event Management and we couldn’t be prouder. If you would like to join us for some work experience with 20Twenty, please let your school know or contact us directly.

Volunteering

We are huge advocates of young people volunteering and as well as running the Community Ambassador Programme (young people volunteering in their local community) we also offer volunteering opportunities within our own projects. Currently 17 young people volunteer on a weekly basis at our Youth Theatres and many others support our fundraising activities. Last year the young people we worked with across all programmes achieved over 3,500 volunteering hours.

Working with artists and arts organisations

We work with many different artists and arts organisations and endeavour where possible to support young people to gain knowledge and experience of the wider creative industries. These include:
